The Taiwanese singer-actress wrote a song in her debut album for her ex-boyfriend who is currently serving time in prison.

Following the release of her first album Me, Myself and I recently, Michelle Chen’s past relationship came to light as it was revealed that she penned the lyrics to the song “Sorry” for her ex-boyfriend Aron, who is currently serving a 16-year jail sentence.

The track, which Michelle described as ‘a song filled with guilt’, was previously speculated to be written for Alan Kuo whom she secretly dated for eight months.

Michelle and Aron reportedly met when they were studying in the United States. The ex-couple returned to Taiwan in 2006 and eventually broke up as a result of the actress’ decision to pursue a showbiz career.

An insider also claimed that Aron, who is said to be born in a rich family, fell under the influence of bad friends after splitting with Michelle. Unfamiliar with the Taiwanese laws, the kind-hearted lad was manipulated by his new ‘˜friends’ and was subsequently sentenced to imprisonment for marijuana possession.

According to media reports, Aron was very ‘touched and thankful’ when he heard that Michelle has written a song for him. In order to protect his ex-girlfriend’s image, he did not mention about the relationship to anyone for the past four years in jail, declining to discuss further details with the media after it was exposed.

Michelle’s manager has also declined to comment on the artiste’s personal affairs.

James Wen reportedly met a female friend in secret two days ago while his girlfriend is in confinement following childbirth.

According to media reports, the Taiwanese actor and his longtime girlfriend welcomed their first child last month. After his girlfriend gave birth, James was pressured by the public to marry her. However, the first-time father avoided commenting on his marriage plans whenever the topic was brought up by the media, inviting criticisms from the public that he is avoiding responsibility.

After attending an event at Taipei 101 two days ago, James was spotted driving his NT$3.9 million (approximately S$166,000) luxurious car to meet a woman in her 30s.

The pair chatted for about five minutes in the car while James drove around the vicinity. He then sent her back to the location where they met, and before the woman left, James gave her a box of red bean cakes that he bought from Taipei 101 a while ago.

Clarifying on the reports through his manager yesterday, James said, ‘She is my friend, and she is also my girlfriend’s friend. She wanted to give me my daughter’s full month present, and I can’t park the car by the roadside, so I asked her to get on the car and we chatted about my daughter for a while.’

In related news, James is rumoured to be marrying his girlfriend soon due to societal pressure, but he does not intend to announce the date to the public.

Taiwanese Pop Star Gives Music Lesson to Mentally Challenged Children

Taiwanese singer and actress Rainie Yang gave a music lesson to the mentally challenged and autistic children at the Baoshan District Children’s Palace in Shanghai on April 26, 2013.

During the lesson, Rainie taught the children how to sing a song. She also talked to them about the importance of being a caring person and how to stay positive in the fact of life’s difficulties. The children put on a performance for Rainie, which moved her to tears.

Rainie said that she hopes to help these children through charity activities. “I feel touched when I see these children with their heart-warming expressions and smiles,” said Rainie.

Rainie added that her concert tour will start in Shanghai on July 20 this year.

Jolin Tsai Successfully Pulls Off Complex Pole Dance Routine

Jolin Tsai fulfilled her wish by successfully completing a complex ‘spinning pole dance’ on 4-metre high steel pole at her Kaohsiung concert last Saturday.

The Taiwanese singer was initially set to perform the dance at her Taipei show last year, but was forced to cancel that segment after she fell off the pole and sustained injuries during her practice.

Dressed in a white corset, Jolin showed off her dance moves throughout the 170-second single and double pole dance performance inviting continuous cheers and applause from the audience. The bruises left behind from her injury were clearly visible on her legs.

According to the Taiwanese media, Jolin’s ‘2013 Myself World Tour’ in Kaohsiung marks her first concert performance in the Taiwanese city. In order to thank Kaohsiung fans for their support, Jolin even prepared three Taiwanese songs by the queen of Taiwanese dance music Chen Xiao Yun, specially chosen by her mother.

The 32-year-old put in a great deal of effort in practicing the songs and perfecting her pronunciation. Her manager explained, ‘Jolin’s mum even personally corrected Jolin’s pronunciation because Jolin wasn’t good at the Taiwanese language.’

After exhausting herself with the singing and dancing, Jolin said, ‘I have to eat all the delicious street snacks such as sweet potato balls, hot plate beef and milk tea to recharge myself.’
